The BC EPI Training Program and Community of Practice is funded by Fraser Health, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and the Vancouver Island, Interior, Northern, Vancouver Coastal, and Provincial Health Services Authorities of British Columbia, Canada.

The development and coordination of the BC EPI Training Program and Community of Practice is done through the Fraser EPI Program.

Psychosis is treatable. Recovery is expected.

Mission

To improve the mental health and quality of life of youth and adults with psychosis by promoting early identification and providing optimal interventions in the critical period of the early years of psychosis. To achieve this, we will:

  1. Promote awareness and recognition of early psychosis.
  2. Enhance existing service delivery to youth and adults with early psychosis, as well as their families.
  3. Integrate youth and adult mental health services in the provision of clinical services.
  4. Provide rapid access to optimal, intensive, phase-specific treatment for early psychosis and deliver best practices clinical services.
  5. Develop a continuum of appropriate services for youth and adults with early psychosis within the existing mental health system and with community partners.
  6. Conduct outcome research and contribute to the development of knowledge about early psychosis.
